Any recipe that says “Double Chocolate” always gets a double take from me. Who among us can resist the temptation of chocolate x2? Not me…I’m not that good. So, when my gluten free friend, Diana, sent me her latest creation for a Double Chocolate Gluten Free Orange Torte, I was swooning. I’m not GF, but I know a certain segment of my fans are, so I’m always on the look-out for tasty recipes for you. And what you will really like about this torte is that it’s made with blanched almond flour (remember, almonds are good for you) and most of the fat is grapeseed oil, also good for you….or at least better than butter, anyway! The sweetener is agave nectar. And, the best part? Dark chocolate comprises the majority of the ingredients. …do I hear anti-oxidants? Diana added one tablespoon of orange zest which gives the torte another nice layer of flavor. You could probably use mint if you want to modify the flavor from time to time. From food processor to oven, this torte takes about 10 minutes to mix so it could easily become a staple in your repertoire. No muss, no fuss…and delicious.
My recommendation? Bake one of these for your family or friends; they will love it. And, be sure to post yours on our fb fan page.
