Wheat Free, Simple to Make, Not Too Caloric Chocolate Dessert. Got Your Attention?

I don’t know about you but I am definitely in the “eat chocolate everyday” camp; most rational people are. I mean, where else can you get cardiovascular health benefits from such delicious tasting flavonoids that are well-known to improve blood vessel function and provide antioxidant protection? Of course you must eat good chocolate with a high cacao percentage. Remember the percentage refers to the total cocoa bean content in the bar, i.e. chocolate liquor, cocoa butter and cocoa powder. The remaining ingredients are sugar, vanilla and depending on the maker, soy lecithin. It’s impossible to eat 100% chocolate because it’s too bitter but buy chocolate with the highest percentage you enjoy.
One way I take pleasure in my chocolate habit is to eat it with bananas and maybe you will too. This dessert takes less than 5 minutes to make, is wheat-free, not too caloric (265 calories if you don’t share it), the ingredients are generally on hand and best of all  it’s really tasty.
Check it out and let me know what you think.

Banana with Dark Chocolate-Honey Sauce

Ingredients

2 tablespoons bittersweet chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (82% or more is best)
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon unsalted butter
Small pinch of salt
1 small banana, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
1 teaspoon chopped toasted walnuts
Method

In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate with the honey, butter, and salt, stirring frequently. Serve the chocolate sauce and walnuts in bowls for dipping, accompanied by the banana chunks.

Enjoy!
